Boys Clothes – Rough and Tough Jeans and Shirts

Boys clothes are fun to buy because the blothing helps them express their personality and maybe even a rough and tumble style. Boys can be studious, or they can be adventurers. Their clothing has to be ready for anything!

One general notion about shopping for boys clothes is that it’s easier than buying clothes for girls.  Parents are often confined to generic clothing for little boys such as short pants and tees, or at least this was true in times past.  Fortunately, the apparel industry has recently come up with some great ideas when it comes to styles and designs for boys.  This is mainly because men and boys are now more fashion-conscious than ever before.  Hence, designer shops have flourished in the past few years.

Durability is an important thing to look for. Sometimes you can surprisingly get cheap items that wear well.  Your main concern should be what designs would appeal to you and your little boy.  Although there are now choices for slacks and other formal clothing, always remember that the staple clothing for boys should always be shirts and jeans.  As for the jeans, they’re versatile, comfortable, and very practical to wear.  The average American adult often has about six pairs of jeans in his wardrobe and your little boy should have the same number or more.  Boys are generally active so they need to have a number of pants that they could use alternately.  Jeans are basic and they can be easily paired with any color of shirt.  And with the rapid growth of boys in mind, manufacturers have even made adjustable elastic jeans just for them.

Boys will always have t-shirts in their wardrobes, especially basic white or black ones which can be easily paired with any pants.  Jazzy prints and bright-colored shirts are also now available to add some flair into your boy’s day-to-day wear.  Dinners and more formal occasions call for nicer clothing so you can also stock up on a few formal shirts for your kid (whether short or long-sleeved).

All in all, clothing for boys can be separated into three categories: sporty, preppy, and casual.  To achieve the sporty look, jeans and tees printed with any sports team’s logo are a must.  Just throw in a baseball hat and he’s ready to strut.  The preppy look, on the other hand, calls for layered polo shirts and slacks.  This get-up is best worn in churches and for other formal functions.  The casual look is achieved with simple combinations of jeans and comfortable shirts.  You can change your little boy’s look every now and then for variety or simply to surprise your neighbors, friends, and family members.
